Women's Basketball Aims To Pack The House

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's basketball team (9-3) opens the 2000 Big 12 Conference schedule Saturday, Jan. 8, against No. 13 Texas Tech (10-1) at the Lloyd Noble Center.

KOCO-Channel 5 television station and Carl's Jr. are sponsoring the event and are providing discounted tickets at ALL of the Oklahoma City metro Carl's Jr. restaurants. Stop by any of these locations and pick up a $3 discounted coupon for this Saturday's game. This will get any adult into the game for a $2 admission.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m. but come early to watch the men's team open conference action against Texas A&M at 3 p.m.

OU ranks among the nation's best in scoring and rebounding and has two players, Phylesha Whaley and Stacey Dales among the elite in scoring (18.3 ppg) and assists (6.8), respectively.

Oklahoma's last home game against No. 1 Connecticut witness a record breaking crowd of 10,713 fans.
