Norman, Okla. - Better late than never for the Oklahoma offense. OU head football coach Bob Stoops put his squad through a two-hour scrimmage for the second straight day, looking for a higher intensity level and more physical play. He certainly got what he asked for, as the Sooner offense dominated the defense inside Memorial Stadium.

We did much better today in every area, noted a much happier first-year head coach. I felt that it was important for us to scrimmage again to prove that yesterday was just one of those days. We still made mistakes, but these were made because our guys hustled and were trying to make plays. I can accept that.

The OU offense set the standard for the scrimmage immediately when Brandon Daniels caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Josh Heupel. The TD capped a seven-play, 70-yard scoring drive. For the day, Heupel hit 13 of 19 passes for 197 yards and four touchdowns. His other scoring passes went to Damien Mackey (13 yards) and to tight end Chris Hammons (22 and two yards).

OU continues to prepare for Indiana State with closed practices tomorrow and Saturday morning. The team will not practice Sunday but will resume workouts Monday.
