Oklahoma Memorial Stadium - Norman, Okla.
For the second year in a row, the Sooners sold out their first two home games. Today's attendance was 74,309.
With four punt returns, Jarrail Jackson became the first Sooner to ever pass the century mark in career returns. Jackson now has 102 career punt returns.
The Sooners reeled off 70 unanswered points against Indiana State and Baylor. The last time OU scored this many unanswered points was in 1992. In a three-game span, the Sooners scored 21 unanswered points in the season opener against Texas Tech and scored 61 points against Arkansas State in the second game of that season. Then, Oklahoma scored the first 10 points against Southern Cal for 92 unanswered points.
Josh Heupel's 250 yards passing in the first half marked the second-highest total in Sooner history for a half. The previous record was 254 set by Cale Gundy in the first half at the 1991 Gator Bowl when he connected on 19 of 23 passes, including two touchdowns.
Heupel upped his single-game records in completions (37) and yardage (420). He also broke single-game records in passing attempts (54) and total offense (397 yards).
Heupel's combined 397 yards in rushing and passing established a new school record. The previous record was set in 1992 by Gundy when he accounted for 357 yards.
Heupel continues to move up the Oklahoma season and career passing charts. His 761 passing yards rank 23rd on and his eight touchdown passes tie for 10th on the school single-season lists. Heupel ranks 22nd in career yardage and is tied for 20th on the career touchdown passing list with J.C.Watts and Buddy Leake.
Michael Thornton's 56-yard run from scrimmage was the longest of his career and the longest by a Sooner since Patrick Fletcher's 58-yard run in the second game of the year against TCU last season.
Thornton's career-high 105 rushing yards marked the 399th time a Sooner has passed the 100-yard mark since World War II.
The last time Oklahoma's offense posted back-to-back 500-yard performances was in 1989 against Missouri and Kansas State when the Sooners collected 565 and 562 yards, respectively.
The last time the Sooners scored 40 points in back-to-back games was in 1993 against Texas A&M (44) and Tulsa (41).
