All About All-Arounders:
The Sooners dominated the all-around competition last weekend on the road at the four-way meet against Denver, Air Force and Centenery. The nationally ranked duo of Amber McCracken and Ginger Russell placed first and second in the event, respectively.

McCracken won her eighth all-around of the season with a second best 39.350. With three first-place finishes, the junior led OU to the second place spot behind Denver. As the 10th-ranked all-arounder in the country, McCracken averages a score of 38.986.

On the vault, McCracken scored a 9.90 for another first-place finish. She is the 13th-ranked vaulter in the country. The career three-time Big 12 Gymnast of the Week also earned the bars title with a 9.90.

Russell took second place in the all-around with a career second best 39.250. She is the 15th-ranked all-arounder in the nation. Russell also had a second-place finish on the vault with a career high 9.825. The junior registered a 9.825 on the beam for third, a 9.775 for third on the floor and took seventh on the bars with a 9.825. Russell was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Year in 1998 and was recently named a Big 12 Gymnast of the Week.

OU at Denver:
The 17th-ranked Sooners fell to 23rd-ranked Denver at a four-way meet in Denver, Colo., Friday. OU was outscored 196.100 to 193.425. Air Force captured third place with a 190.075 and Centenary followed with a 185.700.

OU all-arounders McCracken and Russell captured the top spots of the event and were the only Sooners to place in the top three of any event.

Mariana Goncalves finished fourth on the bars with a 9.850. The freshman has the highest bars average on the team with a 9.854.

Scouting Arizona:
The 11th-ranked Sooners travel to Arizona to take on the Wildcats in their territory Friday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m.

The Sooners take a record of 14-3 into the competition while the Wildcats are 7-5 for the season.

In their most recent competitions, the Wildcats have recorded their seasons highest scores on the beam. They totaled a 48.950 against Michigan last weekend. The Sooners have recently struggled in the event and are not ranked on beam this week.

AUs head coach Bill Ryden is in his first year at the helm of the Wildcats.
