1999 Diet Coke-Roadrunner Invitational
The University of Oklahoma women's golf team, which is ranked 25th in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, travels to Las Cruces, N.M., Monday through Wednesday for the Diet Coke-Roadrunner Invitational. This year's edition will mark the 16th season the tournament has been hosted by New Mexico State University and the 14th season the Las Cruces Coca-Cola Bottling Company has served as the corporate sponsor. The three-day event will take place at the University Golf Course, which plays to a par of 72.
Nationally ranked teams included in the field besides OU are New Mexico (9), Oklahoma State (11) and New Mexico State (19). Also helping comprise the field are Baylor, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Idaho, Kansas, Kansas State, Lamar, Missouri, North Texas, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UTEP, Washington, Wichita State and Wyoming.
Tee times for the first and second rounds are slated from 7 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. (MT), while the final round is set for an 8 a.m. (MT) shotgun start.
Jeannine McHaney Invitational
After leading the tournament heading into the final round, the OU women's golf team shot a final round 302 to finish second in a field of 13 at the Jeannine McHaney Memorial in Lubbock, Texas.
The Sooners were led by senior Isabelle Blais, who shot a tournament best final round of 71 to finish in fifth place with a score of 228 (+12). Sophomore Jennifer James fired a final round of 76 to finish at 229 (sixth place, +13). Other Sooner scores include Kellie Jamison's 234 (+18), Jaime Dello-Russo's 235 (+19) and Betsy Berry's 237 (+21). Allison Johnson fired a 235 (+19) competing as an individual.
