• Joined Oklahoma’s strength and conditioning staff in 2022 as associate director of sports performance and was promoted to director of sports enhancement and strength and conditioning for football in January 2026.
• Served as associate athletics director for sport performance at Vanderbilt from 2020-21 and was responsible for the implementation and direction of the department’s program, which used scientifically based programming, state-of-the-art training technology and customized analytics to help prepare student-athletes for competition. He was the head strength coach for the football program, and served as director of football performance from 2015-20.
• Under Dobson’s direction, the Vanderbilt program and its staff supported a number of performance-based initiatives, such as nutrition, applied sports science, athletic training, strength and conditioning and mental performance services.
• Dobson spent seven years (2008-14) as Nebraska’s director of performance, guiding the football strength and conditioning program and helping with the creation and implementation of the school’s athletics performance lab.
• Prior to his time at Nebraska, Dobson, who is from Mount Horeb, Wis., served as assistant strength and conditioning coach at Iowa from 1997-07 and at SMU from 1997-98.
• Dobson earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Wisconsin in 1996, and his master of science and administration degree from Central Michigan in 2004.
• He is a certified master strength and conditioning specialist and a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
• Dobson and his wife, Rebecca, have a son, Colton, and a daughter, Elise.
