Tad Glibert joined the program as the director of basketball operations in July 2022 and was elevated to chief of staff in July 2024.
in his role as chief of staff, Glibert works closely with head coach Porter Moser in the day-to-day management and strategic direction of the program. His responsibilities span nearly every area of Oklahoma basketball, serving as a key liaison between the coaching staff, support staff, student-athletes and athletic department administration.
Glibert helps oversee the organizational structure and daily operation of the program while playing an integral role in long-term planning and decision-making. His responsibilities include staff coordination, scheduling, team travel, budget management, facility projects, student-athlete logistics and administrative planning, while also developing systems and processes designed to improve efficiency throughout the program. His position requires coordination across virtually every component of the program, allowing the coaching staff to operate from a unified organizational structure.
Glibert works closely with Moser and members of the staff to identify program priorities, organize information for decision-making and ensure that recruiting, personnel, basketball operations and administrative functions remain aligned. During Glibert’s tenure, Oklahoma has navigated one of the most transformative periods in college athletics. He has helped the program manage changes surrounding the transfer portal, NIL, revenue sharing and roster construction while also assisting with the Sooners’ transition from the Big 12 Conference to the Southeastern Conference.
Glibert originally joined the Sooners as director of operations in 2022 after spending three years as chief operating officer for Circle of Hope International in Malawi, Africa. From 2019-22, he helped oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations and administration while supporting its broader mission of community development through education, healthcare and humanitarian initiatives. His role provided experience leading and coordinating within an international nonprofit environment and working across the organization’s various programs and operational needs.
Prior to his time in Malawi, Glibert spent five seasons at Northwestern University from 2014-19, one as a graduate assistant and four as the assistant director of basketball operations. His responsibilities with the Wildcats included film operations and analytics, assisting with team travel and supporting the coaching staff with on-campus recruiting events. His tenure at Northwestern included the Wildcats’ historic 2016-17 season, when the program earned the first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history.
A native of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Glibert graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2014. He was a two-time captain of the men’s soccer team and was named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2013. He earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Northwestern in 2016.
