Former Sooner pitcher Jacob Evans returned to OU in the fall of 2019. A former All-Big 12 Second Team selection, he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He played three professional seasons in the Cardinals organization.
 
Evans finished his OU playing career (2013-15) with a 16-8 record and 17 saves, becoming only the third player in program history to total 15 or more wins and saves. In his junior season of 2015, Evans went 6-1 with eight saves and a 1.67 ERA in 28 relief appearances. He also batted .350 with five RBIs in 20 at bats that season. He posted a 2.06 ERA during his freshman campaign and in 12 relief appearances in 2014, turned in a 3-0 record and 1.89 ERA (he also made nine starts). Evans was named to the Big 12 All-Academic First Team in 2015.
 
Evans is a native of Tulsa, Okla.
