The 2023-24 athletics year at Oklahoma can best be described as a “turning point.” As we celebrated our final year in the Big 12 Conference (and all our successes in that league) and look forward to a bright and exciting future in the SEC, documenting this historic time in Norman was no small feat.
I heard head football coach Brent Venables say it perfectly: “We are charged with doing the best we can as stewards of our roles and our finite time here at the University of Oklahoma,” and that holds true for our photography department. We serve as historians and – as many did before us – do our part to capture and add to the long and storied tradition of Sooner Athletics.
Over 300 athletics competitions, roughly half a million photos taken, four conference titles and a national championship later, we are proud to present the photos of the year for 2023-24.
