Head Coaches
⢠Oklahoma leads the Big 12 Conference with its seven head coaches who are women. In fact, 44% of OU's head coaches (seven of 16) are women. The next highest percentage in the Big 12 is 35%.
⢠In 2020-21, OU was one of four programs from the 87 schools in the American Athletic, Atlantic Coast, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 and Southeastern conferences that earned an "A" grade from the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport. OU, Cincinnati, Illinois and UCF were the only four schools with women occupying at least 70% of the head coaching positions of its women's athletics programs. OU has earned an “A” grade each of the last three years.
Academics
⢠After the Spring 2021 semester, every OU women's athletics program earned a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. The cumulative GPA among all women's programs was 3.42
⢠A total of 66 student-athletes on women's sports teams earned a perfect 4.00 GPA for the Fall 2021 semester.
⢠OU recognized 13 women as Big 12 Gerald Lage Award recipients in 2021 for their outstanding academic achievement. Honorees are required to earn 100+ credit hours and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.80 while lettering in their sport at least once. Over the past five years, a total of 48 OU women have earned this prominent student-athlete award.
⢠Among OU's nine women's sports programs, five earned a 100% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the latest NCAA report in December, and all nine programs have over a 90% GSR.

The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department and The Sooner Club are proud to announce the Women of Championship Excellence initiative aimed at celebrating the outstanding womenās programs at Oklahoma and formalize direct giving avenues for those who are passionate about supporting women's programs.
The launch is part of the athletics departmentās continued focus on providing financial support and championship resources to sports programs in their constant pursuit of excellence in competition and life. With much-needed facility enhancements and rising scholarship costs, this initiative aspires to raise funds in these areas in the immediate future. In addition to the financial component of this initiative, OU Athletics and The Sooner Club will host networking and mentorship opportunities connecting supporters, coaches and student-athletes.
