The University of Oklahoma rowing program recruits high performing athletes from across the U.S. and around the world, however more than thirty percent of our roster is comprised of athletes from Oklahoma.
Out-of-sport athletes have played a huge part in leading the Sooners to two Big 12 Championships, 17 individual boat conference titles, and two NCAA Championship appearances since the program's inception in 2008-09.
The Sooner Bred Scholarship program is designed specifically for out of sport high school athletes from the state of Oklahoma. It is open to all Oklahoma high school athletes interested in representing OU and competing at the highest level of Division I athletics. Applicants will be reviewed and selected based on athletic and academic criteria. Up to one full scholarship will be awarded to qualified applicants.

Applications will be reviewed beginning January 1, 2022 for the fall 2022 semester. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a virtual interview with the OU coaching staff, and finalists will be provided with a campus visit.
