The OU Athletics Department is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect and stands united in the fight to eradicate racism and social injustices against the Black community. During the month of February and beyond, we celebrate Black History Month and attest that Black lives ā including the Black lives of our student-athletes and staff ā matter in a world filled with discrimination and bigotry. We will continue to raise awareness about matters of racism and social injustice and remain committed to our Champions for Unity program and its framework built on the four pillars of Civic Responsibility, Social Intelligence, Education and Accountability and Advocacy. We support our student-athletes and staff members, and encourage them to utilize their voices and platforms to continue to promote societal change in our country. Follow along as we celebrate Black History Month and continue to advance a culture whereby all of the OU family feels valued, supported and inspired to pursue championships in sport and in life.
