OU in the BCS

OU Football History & Tradition

For the duration of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS), 1998 through 2013, Oklahoma was ranked more weeks at No. 1, in the Top 5, and in the Top 10 than any other program in college football. OU earned its first BCS national title in 2000 with an undefeated season and a victory against Florida State in the BCS national title game. The Sooners were also the only program in the nation to win all four major BCS bowls (Orange, Fiesta, Rose, and Sugar) and a national championship.
