Sooner Club
From the Director of Athletics

This academic year has produced unprecedented student-athlete achievement in the classroom, a Big 12 wrestling championship, an NCAA Sweet 16 trip by our men's basketball team, a second-round appearance in the Women's National Invitation Tournament by our women's basketball team, an NCAA regional trip and conference co-championship for our men's gymnastics team and an NCAA regional trip for our woman's gymnastics team. And we aren't finished yet as our spring sports head toward postseason with national rankings in hand.
Achieving excellence is not something we did by ourselves. You have been part of the effort as a contributor to the Athletic Department. By being involved behind the scenes, you have had the opportunity to share in our success and to take pride in the efforts of the 400-plus student-athletes who are privileged to call themselves Oklahoma Sooners.
The time has come to renew your pledge to our annual giving program. By completing and returning the attached form, you will once again show you are a part of our team and you will be investing in OU Athletics, providing opportunities for our student-athletes to keep alive the drive to excellence in competition and in the classroom.
As you are aware, the Athletic Department has proposed modifications to our annual giving program. The objectives are to simplify the annual giving program, to create a customer service environment and to have a giving level for every Sooner fan. You will be receiving information in the near future about these changes and I am confident that the proposed program will allow you to enjoy the benefits you currently receive through your donation plus more.
Your participation as a contributor in this year's fund drive is so important to our efforts. Every student-athlete who becomes a Sooner makes a commitment to excellence. Each of our coaches is committed to excellence, as are our administrators and staff. We must have your support to make the team complete, to allow us to reach our goal and to keep our heritage of athletic and academic excellence growing. Your financial support today is necessary to build tomorrow's champions.
The promise of the future is exciting as we work together for unprecedented success. Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions, I invite you to call our development office at (405) 325-8000 or (800) 522-0772, ext. 8000.
Sincerely,
Joe Castiglione
Director of Athletics
How You Can Participate
---
There are a number of ways you can participate in the Sooner Club.
Annual Cash Gifts
Gifts of cash, check or charged to Visa/MasterCard/Discover, payable to OU FOUNDATION.
Matching Gifts
Many corporations match the gifts their employees make. Before submitting a matching gift form, please check with your company's criteria to be sure it will match an athletic related gift.
Endowed Gifts
Endowed gifts provide on-going benefits for OU Athletics and are essential to a successful future. Endowed gifts may be lump sum or paid over a period of years and may be restricted to a particular athletic program.
Deferred or Planned Giving
The University of Oklahoma Foundation, Inc., often is named as a beneficiary in the wills of University alumni and friends. A donor can perpetuate support to OU Athletics by making a bequest to the Athletic Department in a final will.
Memorial Gifts
Remember a friend or loved one with a memorial gift to the Sooner Club. Your gift will be acknowledged to the family of the deceased and you will receive a tax deduction.
Tax Information
Your contribution is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Consult your tax advisor concerning deductibility issues.
For more information in regard to any of these methods of giving, please call the Athletic Development Office at (405) 325-8000 or (800) 552-0772, ext. 8000.
