Sooners improve to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big 12 with a 63-27 win over Texas Tech. The 15th-ranked Sooners used a huge rushing attack led by Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon, who combined for 350 yards.

4th Quarter

Alex Ross scores on a 10-yard run to help give the Sooners 63-27 lead over Texas Tech. It is the seventh rushing TD for OU today.

3rd Quarter

Oklahoma has never had a pair of 200-yard rushers in a game - but Perine (186) and Mixon (150) are closing in on the feat.


Oklahoma leads Texas Tech 49-27 after three quarters, outscoring the Red Raiders 21-10 in the third quarter. To this point, the 15th-ranked Sooners have outgained the visitors 529-362 behind a ground attack that has rolled up 351 yards, including 186 from Samaje Perine and 150 from Joe Mixon.


Oklahoma extends its lead to 49-27 with a 9-play, 65-yard drive that ends with Mayfield connecting with Durron Neal on a 15-yard scoring pass with 1:03 left in the third quarter - Mixon had a key 13-yard reception for a first down to keep the drive alive as well as a nifty 16-yard run.


Texas Tech cuts the lead to 42-27 with a 9-play, 62-yard scoring drive. QB Patrick Mahomes hit Will Grant from 12 yards out to set up a 1-yard Mahomes TD run, capping the march with 4:51 remaining in the third quarter.

Sooners answer Tech field goal with a 6-play, 75-yard TD drive that culminated with Samaje Perine 6-yard run - OU leads 42-20 with 7:04 left in third.


Texas Tech settles for a 28-yard Hatfield field goal after stalling at the OU 11 - the Red Raider scoring drive was 11 plays, 63 yards and took 4:44, cutting the OU lead to 34-20 with 9:16 left in the third quarter.


Joe Mixon's 45-yard on OU's last drive put him at 112 yards on the day, giving the Sooners two 100-plus-yard rushers today ... Samaje Perine is the leading rusher with 132 yards.

Oklahoma takes a 28-17 lead into intermission thanks in part to running back Samaje Perine, who finished the first half with 132 yards on 15 carries and Joe Mixon (8 carries for 67 yards). The Sooners rushed for 216 yards but were hurt by a pair of turnovers that Texas Tech turned into 14 second-quarter points. OU has out gained the visiting Red Raider 329-242.

End of the first quarter - No. 15 Oklahoma owns a 14-3 lead over Texas Tech on the strength of rushing touchdowns by Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon. The Sooners lost the services of starting cornerback Zack Sanchez (leg injury) in the game's first snap - but got an interception and 33-yard return from Eric Striker to set up their second score. Perine finished the first quarter with 6 carries for 61 yards.


Texas Tech marches 59 yard in 14 plays to cut the OU lead to 14-3 - as Clayton Hatfield connects on 35-yard field goal at 1:42 mark of first quarter.
