Great Expectations: The Campaign For Sooner Sports
With one of the greatest winning traditions in intercollegiate athletics, the University of Oklahoma, its players, coaches, and fans understand the meaning of "Great Expectations." We hope for and expect great things from our athletic teams - and they expect the same from themselves. Time and time again, our teams have delivered on this expectation. OU fans know the numbers by heart: 162 conference championships and 20 national championships, as well as record achievements by more than 700 All-Americans. We are proud to be Sooners!
University of Oklahoma Athletics Director Joe Castiglione announced on
Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, that the Great Expectations Campaign surpassed its
$100 million goal, raising $102 million in less than two years. Presently
the campaign is continuing at a rapid pace, raising money for the John
Jacobs Track and Field Renovation Project, the McCasland Field House
renovation, the Sooner Housing and Wagner Dining Facility renovation, the
Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center renovation and phase II for the Headington
Family Tennis Center and John Crain Soccer Field.
For our campaign to continue its success, "Great Expectations: The Campaign
For Sooner Sports" needs the support of generous donors at all levels. If you are
interested, please let us know by calling the OU Athletic Development
Office at (405) 325-8000. Thank you for your support!
