ARLINGTON, Texas - Sophomore Jimmy Buchanan ran a 15:18.62 to finish fourth in the 5,000-meter run at the UTA Open Friday night.

Buchanan was one of three Sooner distance runners to compete in the UTA Open because of a schedule change at the Texas Invitational. The rest of the Sooners traveled to Austin Friday afternoon for Saturday's Texas Invitational.

Senior Brandon Kissack finished sixth in the 5,000-meter run at the UTA Open with a 15:45.70. Freshman Emily Leonard finished ninth in the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 23:11.53.

The rest of the Sooner team starts competition in the Texas Invitational on Saturday morning. The field events start at 10 a.m. while the running events will start at 11:20 a.m.
