NORMAN, Okla. - OU sophomore Leslie Dunlap and Sooner volunteer coach Kurt Hanna won the weather-delayed A division of the pole vault in the 33rd annual John Jacobs Invitational Sunday afternoon. Originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, the competition was pushed back a day so the event could be held outside. The B division competition was held Saturday in the Mosier Indoor Facility.
Dunlap cleared 12-1.5 to win the women's division. OU freshman Lindsey Bourne was second with an 11-7.75 and sophomore Mary Waytula was third with a 10-8.
Hanna, jumping for the Zero Gravity Track Club, cleared 17-0.75 to take first in the men's division. His younger brother, Robin, a junior on the Sooner roster was third with a 16-1. OU senior Michael McNamara did not clear a height in the competition while junior Michael Westlund did not compete.
Next weekend, Dunlap, McNamara and Westlund will compete in the Mt. Sac Relays in California, other Sooners will travel to the combined event competition of the Kansas Relays and the remainder of the Sooner squads will compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational on Saturday in Waco, Texas.
