Charlie Frasier and the OU baseball team won the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, 4-1. The teams will play the rubber match with a 4 p.m. start.

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma baseball team won the first game of Sunday's doubleheader 4-1 to improve to 17-8 (5-3 Big 12), while Baylor fell to 20-10 (9-5 Big 12). Jarod McAuliff (1-0) made his first collegiate start for the Sooners and pitched seven innings, allowed just one run and struck out three Bears. The freshman from Stillwater, Okla., scattered nine hits, but the Sooners turned two double plays for the third time this season and BU left seven men on base.

OU began the scoring in the second inning, as catcher Ryan Richardson doubled off the left field wall to bring Greg Kish home. Baylor answered with a run in the third, however Eddie Cornejo hit a sacrifice fly and Denver Kitch scored to make the score 2-1, OU.

In the sixth, Charlie Frasier doubled to left field and right fielder Greg Kish tripled to give the Sooners a 3-1 lead. OU added a run in the seventh when Reggie Willits doubled and Kitch scored from first.

Kish went 2-for-2 with a run scored and one driven in, while Kitch was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs scored. Richardson also registered two hits. Jared Theodorakos (4-2) took the loss for Baylor, but Chris Durbin went 3-for-4 for the Bears.

Oklahoma and Baylor will start the rubber match with an approximate 4 p.m. first pitch for the second game of the doubleheader.
