NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma sophomore Leslie Dunlap was named women's Big 12 Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the first week of the outdoor season today. Dunlap had previously earned the award twice during the indoor season.

Dunlap won the Hurricane Invitational pole vault title Saturday with a 12-11.5 vault. The mark was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and continued her streak of clearing at least an NCAA provisional mark in every meet she has competed in this year. That streak is up to 11 and Dunlap has six victories in those 11 meets.

Brian Hunter, a pole vaulter from Texas, won the men's award after winning the Rebel Invitational in Las Vegas. His winning mark also was an NCAA provisional qualifier.

The Sooners, who are on spring break on the Norman campus, will continue to train in Miami after competing in the Hurricane Invitational. OU will compete in the Florida International Golden Panther Invitational Friday and Saturday before returning to Norman.
