Summy and Cowan Named to PING All-Region Team

May 30, 2026 | Men's Golf

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's golfers Ryder Cowan and Jase Summy were named to the PING All-Central Region team, it was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Saturday.

The pair, who were each All-SEC first-team selections, are now three-time All-Region selections as the selection marks the precursor to All-America honors. Oklahoma's 31 All-Region honorees over the last eight seasons are the most in the central region as the Sooners have had multiple All-Region golfers in 13 consecutive seasons.

Ranked No. 13 nationally, Cowan has posted 10 top-20 finishes, six top-10s and two wins in 13 events this season. His scoring average of 69.95 (-1.36) is a top-five mark in program history, while 17 of his 40 rounds have been in the 60s. He owns 26 rounds of par-or-better this season after setting the Oklahoma single-season record with 30 last year. The junior was named to Team USA for the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup and to the final watch list for the Haskins Award earlier in the spring.

Summy, ranked No. 15 nationally and third in the PGA TOUR University ranking (top college seniors), has delivered one of the best seasons of his decorated career. The senior owns seven top-10 finishes in 12 events, including six top-five placements and one win. His 18 rounds in the 60s lead the team as the Keller, Texas, product has set school records for career rounds in the 60s, par-or-better rounds, birdies and career scoring average.

Cowan and Summy each earned All-America honors last year and are in line to do so in 2026.

The Sooners are currently playing in the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, Calif. Following round one, the Sooners were tied for 15th.
