Sooners Hit Five Homers in Sunday Win at Arkansas

May 10, 2026 | Baseball

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — No. 24 Oklahoma took the series finale at No. 17 Arkansas Sunday afternoon by a final score of 15-10.

OU (31-18, 13-14 SEC) was powered by a season-high five home runs courtesy of Deiten Lachance, Brendan Brock, Jaxon Willits and a pair from Drew Dickerson.

The Sooners took an early lead for the third straight game, going up 3-0 in the first on Lachance's three-run shot, his second in as many days and fourth in the last five games.

The Sooners would build the lead to five runs after two and a half innings, with Dickerson hitting a solo blast in the second and Lachance driving in another run at the top of the third.

The Razorbacks (34-18, 15-12) would respond in the home half of the third, scoring their first run via solo shot. After a scoreless fourth, Arkansas would plate three in the fifth on a two-out home run to bring it to a one-run game.

Brock would push the lead back to three runs on a two-run home run at the top of the sixth, his team-leading tenth of the season.

A pair of home runs from Arkansas in the bottom of the sixth would even the score at seven a piece heading to the seventh.

Oklahoma would explode for seven runs on five hits, including a pair of home runs, in the seventh. Willits hit his fifth of the season on a two-run blast to give OU the lead back before later in the frame Dickerson would hit a grand slam.

Arkansas would respond with three runs across the bottom of the seventh and eighth before OU would tally one more in the ninth to bring the final to 15-10.

On the mound, Nate Smithburg earned his first career victory while OU utilized six pitchers in the contest. Freshman starting left-hander Cord Rager went five innings, surrendering four runs on five hits and one walk to go with seven strikeouts. The frosh had surrendered just one run on three hits entering the fifth. It was Rager's fifth start with seven-plus strikeouts and third in his last four appearances.
