NORMAN – Oklahoma senior Julia Garcia Ruiz was named SEC Co-Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Ranked No. 64 in singles and No. 61 in doubles, Garcia Ruiz delivered a perfect weekend to lead No. 7 Oklahoma to top-10 victories over No. 2 Texas A&M (4-1) and No. 6 Texas (4-2), extending the Sooners' winning streak to 13 matches.

The Morelia, Mexico native went 2-0 in singles, opening with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Texas A&M's Lexington Reed before following with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 victory against Texas' Christasha McNeil on Senior Day. Her straight-set performances helped Oklahoma take control in both matches during a pivotal weekend of SEC play.

Garcia Ruiz was equally effective in doubles alongside Salakthip Ounmuang, earning a 6-1 win over Texas A&M before adding a 6-4 victory against Texas. The duo has now won 11 consecutive matches and continues to be a key piece of Oklahoma's doubles success.

Her all-around performance helped the Sooners secure a share of the SEC regular-season title and maintain their momentum heading into postseason play.

Oklahoma will begin SEC Tournament play as the No. 1 seed this Friday at 3 p.m. CT at the Headington Family Tennis Center with their opponent to be determined.
