NORMAN — No. 12 Oklahoma completed the series sweep over Santa Clara with an 8-6 win Sunday afternoon in Norman.

A back-and-forth affair early with the Sooners (14-2) putting up three runs in the first before the Broncos (5-9) responded with a pair at the top of the second. OU scored a solo run in the third before SCU responded again with two runs at the top of the fourth to tie the game.

The Sooners outscored the Broncos 4-2 over the final five innings to clinch their second weekend series sweep of the season.

OU registered five extra-base hits on the day with junior Deiten Lachance knocking two doubles, Alec Blair ripping a double and a triple, and Drew Dickerson legging out a triple.

Veteran righty Jason Bodin (W, 1-0) got the win in relief, going a career-long three innings and striking out a career-high six batters. OU starting LHP Cord Rager went three innings and surrendered four runs on two hits and two walks to go with three strikeouts. Senior Reid Hensley fanned four of his eight batters faced in 1.2 innings, while Kadyn Leon stranded a pair of Broncos with a strikeout in his third of an inning. Jackson Cleveland earned his third save of the season, hurling a scoreless ninth inning with one hit and one strikeout.
