Guachino Spins Complete Game and Fans 11 in 8-4 Win

BATON ROUGE, La.  — Sooner sophomore Miali Guachino spun a complete game and fanned 11 while the Sooner (34-3, 8-1 SEC) bats homered four times in an 8-4 series-clinching win at No. 20 LSU (23-12, 4-8 SEC) Sunday, March 29.

Isabela Emerling belted the eventual game-winning three-run home run in the fifth and Guachino spun 149 pitches in the circle to give OU its third-straight SEC series win.

Kai Minor set the tone early, doubling to left to lead off the inning. Kendall Wells homered to right one batter later and Gabbie Garcia launched her own opposite field home run to give OU a 3-0 lead. Isabela Emerling was hit by a pitch, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a two-out single from Ailana Agbayani

Guachino fanned the side in the first but LSU responded with two solo homers in the second inning. Both sides combined to spin four zeros before Isabela Emerling roped an 80 mile per hour line drive three-run homer to center, extending the lead to 7-2.

Ella Parker lifted a solo homer to left in the sixth, but LSU got that run back in the bottom of the inning on Kylee Edwards' second homer of the game.

LSU threatened in the bottom half of the seventh, scoring once and getting two runners on, but Guachino retired Edwards on a lineout to Ella Parker in right.
