NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's gymnastics team is No. 1 in the Week 8 rankings with an average team score of 325.150 after posting the highest score in the nation this season (331.300) in a win over No. 3 Nebraska (321.150) on Saturday at McCasland Field House.
The Sooners rank ahead of No. 2 Stanford (322.800), while No. 3 Nebraska (317.590), No. 4 Ohio State (316.800) and No. 5 Michigan (316.420) round out the top five. Rankings are based on the average of a team's scores this season.
OU holds first place on pommel horse (54.660), vault (55.610) and high bar (53.780) and ranks second on floor exercise (54.220), still rings (53.200) and parallel bars (53.680).
Oklahoma has two gymnasts ranked No. 1 on individual events, with sophomore Colby Aranda atop the pommel horse rankings (14.250) and junior Tyler Flores leading on vault (14.400).
Fifth-year senior Brigham Frentheway is ranked fifth on floor exercise (13.850), freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk ranks eighth (13.720), redshirt senior Fuzzy Benas is eighth (13.667) and redshirt sophomore Arthur Ballon ranks ninth (13.700). Senior Ignacio Yockers sits second on pommel horse (14.140).
Sophomore Francisco Velez Belendez ranks third on still rings (13.887), and junior Tas Hajdu is sixth (13.700). Bogonosiuk is ranked third on vault (14.230), while freshman Nathan Roman is second on parallel bars (14.188).
Redshirt junior Brandon Zepeda-Orth ranks second on high bar (13.917), senior Kelton Christiansen is third (13.913) and Benas sits 10th (13.290). Bogonosiuk also ranks 10th in the all-around (79.650).

Oklahoma returns to McCasland Field House next Saturday, March 7, for its home finale against No. 8 California. The Senior Night meet is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT, with introductions at 5:45 p.m. It will be Student Groups Night, featuring a visor giveaway. OU will honor its seniors following the meet.
