Benas Earns CGA Specialist of the Week Award

February 04, 2026 | Men's Gymnastics

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's gymnastics redshirt senior Fuzzy Benas was named the CGA Specialist of the Week following his performance in OU's home win over Greenville on Sunday afternoon, the College Gymnastics Association announced Wednesday.

Benas took home individual event titles in both of his events on Sunday. He posted a season high 14.050 on high bar, which was .600 away from the next closest high bar score in the meet. He also scored a 13.500 on parallel bars in his debut routine on that event this season.

The honor marks Benas' first national weekly award of the season. This is the second time an OU gymnast has earned a national honor from the CGA. Freshman Nathan Roman won CGA Rookie of the Week on Jan. 28.
