NORMAN – Oklahoma senior Beatrice Culliton was named to the SEC's Women's Basketball Community Service Team, the league announced Wednesday.
Culliton, a fourth-year player from Overland Park, Kansas, will be celebrated as part of the senior class Thursday during OU's Senior Night following the Sooners' matchup with Arkansas at Lloyd Noble Center. She earned the honor in recognition of her impact in the community and commitment to service off the court.
Now in its 28th year for men's and women's basketball, the SEC Community Service Team highlights student-athletes who go above and beyond in their communities. The initiative began with the SEC Football Community Service Team in 1994 and expanded to all league-sponsored sports in 2004.
Culliton has made a meaningful impact in both Oklahoma City and Norman during her four years with the Sooners, particularly throughout her senior season. A graduate student pursuing a career in the medical field, Culliton has worked at Stellar Pediatric Urgent Care supporting care for children and families, and at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman. She has also volunteered at the JD McCarty Center, building connections with children with developmental disabilities, and helped address food insecurity through the OU Food Pantry and Norman Food & Shelter. Additionally, Culliton and her teammates have visited veteran centers across the Oklahoma City metro, spending time with veterans and thanking them for their service.
On the court, Culliton has been a key contributor during Oklahoma's rise back into the AP Top 10. Thursday will mark the 125th game of her career, having played in nearly every contest during her time in Norman. A 2023 Big 12 All-Freshman Team selection, Culliton has totaled more than 300 points, 375 rebounds and 125 assists, highlighted by a 10-assist performance as a freshman — an Oklahoma record for a post player. She was a four-star prospect out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and a top-100 recruit according to ESPN.
Academically, Culliton is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll last season. She graduated in 2025 with a bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies and is currently pursuing her MBA with a concentration in hospital administration.
