Sooners No. 2 in Week 4 Rankings

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's gymnastics team is No. 2 in the Week 4 national rankings with an average team score of 321.933 after posting a 320.000 in its home win over Greenville on Sunday afternoon.

The Sooners rank just behind No. 1 Stanford (322.433), while No. 3 Ohio State (315.217), No. 4 Michigan (314.950) and No. 5 Penn State (314.813) round out the top five. Rankings are based on the average of a team's scores this season.

OU holds first place on pommel horse (54.367) and high bar (52.900). The Sooners rank second on floor exercise (53.617) and parallel bars (53.500), while ranking fourth on vault (55.200) and fifth on still rings (52.350).

Freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk is tied for fourth on floor exercise (13.925), redshirt sophomore Arthur Ballon ranks sixth (13.700) and redshirt junior Leo Koike ranks eighth (13.650). Senior Ignacio Yockers ranks fifth on pommel horse (14.067), while sophomore Colby Aranda sits seventh (14.025).

Sophomore Francisco Velez Belendez ranks seventh on still rings (13.725), and junior Tas Hajdu is 10th (13.500). Junior Tyler Flores ranks fourth on vault (14.250) after his season debut, Bogonosiuk is seventh (14.175) and Koike ranks eighth (14.150).

Freshman Nathan Roman leads the nation on parallel bars with a 14.175. Senior Kelton Christiansen ranks second on high bar (13.975), while redshirt junior Brandon Zepeda-Orth is tied for sixth (13.775). Bogonosiuk also ranks third in the all-around (79.650).

Oklahoma will host Ohio State and Air Force on Saturday, Feb. 7 at McCasland Field House. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT, with introductions at 5:45 p.m. It is OU's annual Cleveland Night, featuring students and families from Norman's Cleveland Elementary School. Feb. 6-8 is also OU Gymnastics Alumni Weekend when the Sooners will welcome back alumni from both the men's and women's programs. Festivities will include a petting zoo, face painting and a t-shirt giveaway.
