NORMAN — The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team remained the No. 1 team in the nation for the fourth week in a row as the Sooners posted a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 197.900 in the first week of NQS calculations.
For 2026, an updated NQS proposal was submitted to the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA). Beginning with week seven, NQS will be calculated as an average of meets, dropping the high and low scores. After conference championships, NQS will be calculated by ordering all scores from highest to lowest, confirming at least five away meets and no more than five home meets, dropping the highest and lowest scores and averaging the remaining scores. All away meets will be included in the calculation prior to dropping the highest and lowest scores.
OKLAHOMA NQS
1. 198.425 (H)
2. 198.200
3. 198.175
4. 198.075
5. 197.550
6. 197.500
7. 197.425
NQS: 198.900
The teams in the top five remained unchanged. LSU (197.688) is No. 2, followed by Alabama (197.475), Florida (197.456) and UCLA (197.405).
On the events, the Sooners are No. 1 on vault (49.540) and beam (49.530), No. 4 on floor (49.465) and No. 5 on bars (49.370).
The Individual NQS formula will not change with this adjustment to the team NQS formula. Individual NQS will continue to be calculated by using the three highest away scores and three highest home scores, dropping the highest score, and averaging the remaining five. A total of eight gymnasts hold 16 individual rankings on the events and in the all-around, including nine spots in the top 10.
