NORMAN  – Oklahoma women's tennis head coach Audra Cohen and the Sooners announced the addition of Reina Goto to the program for the fall 2026 season on Friday

A native of Okayama, Japan, Goto has reached as high as No. 30 in the ITF junior rankings and owns WTA career-high rankings of No. 579 in singles and No. 641 in doubles.

"We are thrilled to welcome Reina to the Sooner family," Cohen Said. "She competes with the passion and energy we value, and her success at both the junior and professional level speaks to her talent and drive. Reina still has tremendous room to grow, and her fire and enthusiasm will elevate our program immediately."

Goto has recorded 48 combined professional wins and enjoyed her most successful year in 2025, reaching career-high rankings and capturing both the singles and doubles titles at the W15 Phan Thiet event in Vietnam.

At the junior level, Goto claimed two singles titles and one doubles title and competed in the main draw of all four Junior Grand Slam tournaments: the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open.

"I'm so excited to join the University of Oklahoma women's tennis team," Goto said. "This is the next step to pursuing my professional career and I can't wait to contribute to the team's success on and off the court."

I'm looking forward to this new challenge and pushing my limits. Boomer Sooner'
