NORMAN – After posting the nation's top score on Friday with a 198.425, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is the No. 1 team in the nation with a 197.783 average through three meets.
LSU, the only other team to put up a score of 198 or better this season, moved up to No. 2 with a 197.467 average. Alabama and Florida are tied at No. 3 (197.417) while UCLA stayed steady at No. 5 (197.181).
The Sooners are No. 1 on a pair of events with a 49.517 average on vault and 49.550 average on beam. All six vaulters from Friday's lineup are ranked, while four members of the beam squad hold top 25 rankings.
OU also holds top five rankings on bars and floor, sitting at No. 4 on bars with a 49.350 average and No. 5 on floor with an average of 49.367. A pair of athletes hold three individual rankings on the events.
A total of eight gymnasts hold 15 individual rankings on the events and in the all-around. Lily Pederson (39.350) and Addison Fatta (39.325) are ranked 15th and 16th, respectively in the all-around. Fatta is also No. 7 on vault (9.908) and No. 13 on beam (9.900).
Mackenzie Estep leads the Sooners with an individual ranking on all three events she competes. The freshman is No. 2 on vault (9.933), No. 19 on bars (9.883) and No. 9 on floor (9.908). Fellow freshman Ella Murphy is ranked on a pair of events, coming in at No. 7 on beam (9.933) and No. 15 on floor (9.900).
Faith Torrez and Keira Wells are each ranked on a pair of events with Torrez at No. 2 on beam (9.958) and No. 6 on vault (9.912) and Wells at No. 17 on vault (9.883) and No. 19 on beam (9.883).
Elle Mueller (9.900) and Elizabeth Blessey (9.875) are each ranked on vault at No. 9 and No. 20, respectively.
The Sooners will return to competition on Friday as they travel to Kentucky for the second SEC road trip of the season. That meet is set for a 5 p.m. CT start inside Historic Memorial Coliseum.
