January 13, 2026 | Wrestling

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma wrestling's DJ Parker was announced Tuesday as a nominee for the 2025-26 Allstate NACDA Good Works Winter Team, which recognizes male and female student-athletes across all divisions and sports who go above and beyond in their commitment to community service, academic achievement and athletic performance.

A senior competing at 197 pounds, Parker is one of 180 student-athletes nominated nationwide. Nominees are selected by a distinguished selection committee of athletics directors, former student-athletes and industry leaders. The committee will choose the final 20-member team — 10 female and 10 male student-athletes — to join the 2025-26 Allstate NACDA Good Works Team.

The Moline, Ill., native has been actively involved in community outreach through youth engagement and mentorship. He regularly visits Terra Verde Discovery School, participating alongside students during physical education classes, and serves as a coach and mentor at Shelton Wrestling Academy, where he teaches foundational techniques while emphasizing discipline and sportsmanship. He also returns to Moline Sr. High School during academic and athletic breaks to assist current wrestlers by attending practices and providing technical instruction.

On the mat, Parker is a two-time NCAA qualifier and three-time Big 12 placewinner. Currently ranked No. 9 at 197 pounds by InterMat, he owns a 12-4 record this season with a team-leading eight bonus-point victories and has earned Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors. Parker is also a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.

The final Allstate NACDA Good Works Winter Team will be announced in early February.
