No. 16 Sooners Down No. 24 Gators Thursday Night

OU improved to 10-3 on the season and 3-1 in SEC play, while Florida dropped to 8-5, 3-2.
The Sooners came out firing, claiming their 12th doubles point of the season. Junior Luis Alvarez and sophomore Kholo Monsti made quick work of their opponents at the No. 2 spot, easily claiming the 5-1 victory. The duo are now 10-0 on the season as doubles partners.
Freshman Alejandro Melero and sophomore Asahi Harazaki clinched the doubles point for the Sooners, dispatching their opponents, 6-3, at the No. 3 line to improve to 8-1 on the year.
In singles action, Alvarez was first off the court with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Tanapatt Nirundorn at the No. 4 spot. The junior improved to 7-3 on the season as he gave the Sooners the 2-0 lead.
Junior Bruno Nhavene picked up the third point of the day with a 7-6 (1), 6-1 victory over Bradley Paliska at No. 6.
Clinching the match was Montsi at the No. 2 line with a 7-5, 6-2 win over JanMagnus Johnson.
Up next, the Sooners will head to Starkville, Miss., to take on Mississippi State on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
