Oklahoma Prepped for Maridoe Intercollegiate
March 30, 2025 | Men's Golf
NORMAN — No. 7 Oklahoma men's golf heads to the Lone Star State this week for the Maridoe Intercollegiate, held annually at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas. The two-day, 54-hole event tees off on Monday as the Sooners take on three other top-15 teams in the 15-team field.
In their last time on the course, the Sooners finished fourth at the Valspar Collegiate last week as Jase Summy earned a runner-up finish. OU got back under par, posting a 21-under score while Summy's 197 (-16) was the fifth-lowest 54-hole score in program history.
Head coach Ryan Hybl — the program's all-time wins leader — has guided the Sooners to 13 consecutive NCAA Finals appearances, a national championship in 2017 and three Big 12 titles since taking over in 2009. With 47 tournament wins, Hybl ranks fourth among active coaches and has mentored 14 Sooners to 30 All-America honors. The 2022 Dave Williams National Coach of the Year, Hybl was inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame in 2024.
Hybl's lineup in Texas features Summy, Drew Goodman, Clark Van Gaalen, Matthew Troutman and Ryder Cowan. PJ Maybank III will compete as an unattached individual.
Live scoring will be available on Clippd.
