NORMAN — No. 1 Oklahoma Softball (19-0) erupted for a season high scoring output as the Sooners clubbed 14 hits in a 17-1 win against Missouri-Kansas City (1-13) in the Oklahoma Omni Classic finale Sunday, March 2 from Love's Field.
Five Sooners tallied multi-hit games and
Isabela Emerling generated seven RBIs in Oklahoma's fifth double-digit hit performance of the season. The last time OU scored 17 runs was during a 17-0 win at Kansas March 29 of last season.
The OU pitching staff held teams to three total three runs on the weekend, bringing the team earned run average to 1.26. OU tallied five run-rule wins over the five-game tournament.

Oklahoma opened up a 5-0 lead after the first.
Abigale Dayton and
Ella Parker worked leadoff walks and executed a double steal to move up a base to start the bottom of the first. Kansas City's Riley Bebb threw a wild pitch as Dayton and Parker both scored.
Cydney Sanders roped a single up the middle and moved to third on a
Nelly McEnroe-Marinas double to right. One batter later
Ailana Agbayani laced an RBI single to left, making it 3-0. The line kept moving as
Sydney Barker drove in McEnroe-Marinas with a hot liner to second. Emerling rolled an RBI single to the hole at short, driving in another to make it 5-0.
The Sooners scored six two-out runs in the second inning, doing so on six hits and a walk. Emerling's grand slam highlighted the frame, while
Gabbie Garcia hit her third home run in as many games and Barker picked up one of her three RBIs with a single.
OU used four walks and a pair of two-RBI singles from Emerling and
Hannah Coor to go up 16-0 after the third.
Tia Milloy belted a 284-foot home run in the fourth to complete OU's scoring. The Roos' Grace Batdorf hit a solo home run to right in the fifth for UMKC's lone run of the game.
