NORMAN – After five weeks of competition, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team remains the No. 1 team in the country with an average of 197.730.
The Sooners posted a 197.825 in a victory over No. 13 Arkansas last Friday night to increase their average mark. Florida remained No. 2 with a 197.456, followed by LSU (197.420), Utah (197.204) and Michigan State (197.000).
On the events, OU ranks No. 1 on bars (49.520), No. 2 on beam (49.435) and floor (48.435) and No. 4 on vault (49.340).
Six Sooners hold a total of 18 individual rankings through week five. Four athletes are ranked in the top 10 in the all-around, including three of the top five spots.
Faith Torrez is No. 2 in the all-around with a 39.605 average and the only Sooner ranked on all four events. The junior is No. 3 on floor (9.930), No. 8 on beam (9.915), No. 11 on vault (9.885) and No. 18 on bars (9.875).
Jordan Bowers sits at No. 3 in the all-around (39.575) with rankings on three events. Bowers is No. 4 on bars (9.915), No. 7 on floor (9.920) and No. 9 on beam (9.905).
Audrey Davis is No. 5 in the all-around with a 39.545 average and rankings on a pair of events. The senior leads the nation as the top bar worker with a 9.950 average. Davis is also No. 20 on vault with a mark of 9.870.
Lily Pederson is No. 7 in the all-around (39.490) and ranked No. 14 on bars (9.880), No. 18 on vault (9.875) and No. 21 on beam (9.880).
Danielle Sievers and
Addison Fatta are each ranked on bars to round out the individual rankings. Sievers is No. 7 (9.900) and Fatta checks in at No. 18 (9.875).
The Sooners are back at home for a Friday night matchup with No. 8 Kentucky. The meet is set for a 7:15 p.m. start on SEC Network as the Sooner welcome back their alumni for Alumni Night.
