Sooners Remain No.1 After Double Weekend

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team remained the No. 1 team in the nation for the eighth week in a row. The Sooners boast a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 197.865 after posting back-to-back scores of 198-plus over the weekend.
NQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition.

LSU moved back up to No. 2 (197.540) and UCLA dropped to No. 3 (197.540) in the rankings. Utah remained at No. 4 (197.465) while California jumped into the top five (197.200).
On the events, the Sooners are ranked No. 1 on vault (49.430), bars (49.510) and floor (49.570) and No. 2 on beam (49.455).
Six athletes combined for 21 individual rankings for week eight, led by all five all-around competitors appearing in the top 25.
Four of the five all-arounders are in the top 10 with two in the top three. Faith Torrez is No. 2 (39.655) and Jordan Bowers is No. 3 (39.640). Audrey Davis checked in at No. 9 (39.525) and Lily Pederson rounds out the top 10 with a 39.510 NQS. Addison Fatta boasts a 39.320 NQS to sit at No. 24.
The five all-around athletes are also all ranked on the uneven bars and balance beam. On bars, Davis is No. 2 (9.945), Bowers is No. 3 (9.920), Pederson is No. 10 (9.900), Torrez is No. 13 (9.895) and Fatta is No. 15 (9.890). On beam, Torrez is No. 2 (9.940), Bowers is No. 7 (9.910), Lily is No. 9 (9.905), Davis is No. 15 (9.890) and Fatta is No. 19 (9.880).
Four athletes are ranked on vault, including Torrez at No. 1 (9.950). Bowers comes in at No. 9 (9.895), Keira Wells is No. 10 (9.890) and Pederson is No. 14 (9.880).
Rounding out the individual rankings, Bowers is No. 1 on floor (9.960) and Torrez is No. 3 (9.955).
The Sooners are back in action on Friday, Feb. 28, when they travel to No. 11 Auburn for a 6:45 p.m. CT meet on SEC Network+.
