NORMAN (AP) — Freshman Aaliyah Chavez scored a season-high 33 points and No. 9 Oklahoma rallied to beat North Carolina State 103-98 in overtime in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Wednesday night.
Chavez, a 5-foot-10 guard, was coming off a season-best 29-point effort last Saturday in a win over Florida State.
Sahara Williams and Raegan Beers each scored 21 points for the Sooners (8-1), who won their seventh straight since losing their second game of the season to UCLA. Oklahoma scored at least 100 points for the fourth consecutive game.
Zoe Brooks scored 25 points, Khamil Pierre had 19 points and 20 rebounds and Tilda Trygger added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Wolfpack (5-4). They lost despite outrebounding the Sooners 57-48.
Chavez got off to a strong start with 11 points in the first quarter to help the Sooners take a 23-21 lead.
North Carolina State led by 10 midway through the third quarter, but Chavez started to find success attacking the basket in the third quarter. She scored eight points in the period to trim the Wolfpack's lead to 70-65.
Oklahoma took the lead late in the fourth quarter for the first time in the second half on a pair of free throws by Williams that put the Sooners up 89-88. Trygger made one of two free throws with 42 seconds left to tie the game at 89 and force overtime.

POSTGAME NOTES
• No. 9/9 Oklahoma defeated No. RV/25 NC State 103-98 in overtime at Lloyd Noble Center on Wednesday night to push its winning streak to six and give the Southeastern Conference a point in the ACC/SEC Women's Challenge. The Sooners used the 18th double-digit comeback of the Jennie Baranczyk era (2021-present) to force overtime and secure the win.
• The Sooners reached 100 points for the fourth straight game – 112 vs. Western Carolina 100 vs. Coppin State 109 vs. Florida State and 103 vs. NC State – setting a program record for consecutive 100-point games.
• The six-game winning streak matches OU's third longest since 2021. During the stretch Oklahoma is scoring 101.3 points per game and winning by an average of 36.8 points.
• Aaliyah Chavez starred with a career-high 33 points on 13 of 26 shooting with four rebounds and four assists. Her 33 points are the third most ever by an OU freshman in a game and the most scored by a freshman nationally this season. Her 62 points across the last two games are the most in a two-game span by a freshman in OU history. Chavez leads all true freshmen with five or more games played in scoring this season at 19.7 points per game which is 3.7 points more than USC's Jazzy Davidson who ranks second. There have been six games this season where a true freshman has scored 29 or more points and Chavez owns three of them.
• Raegan Beers delivered her sixth straight double-double with 21 points (8 of 15 FG) and 12 boards. Her seven double-doubles lead the nation and she joins Courtney Paris as the only Sooners with six or more consecutive double-doubles.
• Sahara Williams finished with 21 points and nine rebounds reaching 20 points for the third time in four games. The junior has scored in double figures in 17 of her last 21 games dating to last season and is one of four SEC players (Beers is one) averaging a double-double this season (14.6 ppg 10.3 rpg).
• NC State, who entered the season ranked inside the AP top 10, shot 41.8%, the highest of an OU opponent this year, but the Sooners shot 47.7% and improved to 93-4 (.959) since 2021 when shooting a higher percentage than their opponent.
• OU trailed by 10 points three different times early in the third quarter but outscored the Wolfpack by two in the third and five in the fourth to force overtime. Beers had seven points in the extra period as OU improved to 4-1 in overtime under Baranczyk and 34-12 in single-digit games with the fifth-year head coach. It was the first OU game this season decided by 13 points or fewer.
• The Sooners committed only nine turnovers for the third time this year and are now 11-1 under Baranczyk when finishing with 10 or fewer.
