NORMAN — Each month, the OU Athletics Academic and People & Culture teams proudly nominate student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence and meaningful growth in various areas. Whether through academic achievements, leadership or community involvement, these individuals embody what it means to represent the University of Oklahoma with pride and dedication.

2025 September Student-Athletes of the Month:
Junior Sammy Omosigho, a management major from Heartland, Texas, is a linebacker on the football team. He ranks fifth on the team with his 33 tackles, including four for loss and two sacks. He was nominated for Student-Athlete of the Month for his contributions on the field and his stellar coursework. A great representative of OU athletics, he is involved with SAAC and regularly attends voluntary events.

Junior Sahara Williams, a human relations major from Waterloo, Iowa, has been named Oklahoma's October Student-Athlete of the Month, recognized for her exceptional growth both academically and personally. A forward on the women's basketball team, Williams has made tremendous strides in the classroom while emerging as a leader on and off the court. Her commitment to accountability and consistency has set a standard for her teammates and peers across the university. Williams continues to bring a positive energy to every environment she's in, understanding that her effort not only elevates herself but also inspires those around her.
