Sooners Hold Top Spot Through Week Four

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is holding steady as the No. 1 team in the nation after four weeks of competition.
The Sooners posted a 197.550 in a victory over No. 10 Alabama in its first SEC road trip of the season. OU now boasts a 197.706 average to hold the top spot. Florida moved to No. 2 (197.417) while LSU dropped to No. 3 (197.275). Utah (197.150) and Michigan State (196.950) round out the top five.
On the events, the Sooners rank No. 1 on bars (49.481) and floor (49.431), No. 2o n beam (49.469) and No. 3 on vault (49.325).
In the individual rankings, five Sooners hold 16 top 25 marks, including four in the top seven in the all-around.
Faith Torrez leads the group at No. 2 in the all-around with a 39.575 average. Audrey Davis comes in at No. 4 (39.556), Jordan Bowers is No. 6 (39.538) and Lily Pederson is No. 7 (39.519).
A trio of Sooners are ranked on vault as Pederson sits at No. 8 (9.888), Davis is No. 20 (9.875) and Torrez is No. 22 (9.869).
On bars, Davis is the top-ranked athlete with a 9.95 average, followed by Bowers at No. 4 (9.931). Danielle Sievers is No. 8 (9.90) and Pederson is No. 23 (9.869).
Torrez, Bowers and Pederson are all in the top 15 on balance beam. Torrez is No. 5 (9.913), Pederson is No. 7 (9.912) and Bowers is No. 14 (9.894).
A pair of Sooners are in the top 10 on floor as Torrez is No. 2 (9.938) and Bowers is No. 8 (9.912).
The Sooners are back at home for a Friday night matchup with No. 13 Arkansas. The meet is slated for a 7:45 p.m. CT start on ESPN2.
