NORMAN – For the third week in a row, the Sooners posted the highest score in the nation and remained the No. 1 team in the country.
After recording a 198.775 in a victory over No. 10 Missouri in their SEC opener, the Sooners increased their average to 197.758 to hold the top spot. LSU (197.500) remained at No. 2 while Florida (197.063) moved into the top five. Michigan State (197.000) and Utah (196.958) round out the top five.
On the events, the Sooners rank No. 1 on bars (49.550), No. 2 on beam (49.433), No. 2 on floor (49.442) and No. 3 on vault (49.333).
Seven athletes combined for 19 individual rankings, including four in the top 10 in the all-around.
With a career-high 39.725 on Friday night,
Audrey Davis moved into third in the all-around with an average of 39.583. The senior is No. 1 on bars (9.958), No. 14 on vault (9.883) and No. 20 on floor (9.892).
Faith Torrez and
Lily Pederson round out the top five in the all-around with Torrez coming in at No. 4 with a 39.567 and Pederson at No. 5 with a 39.558. Torrez is also No. 2 on floor (9.933), No. 7 on beam (9.900) and No. 12 on bars (9.892). Pederson is No. 5 on beam (9.917), No. 10 on vault (9.892) and No. 12 on bars (9.892).
Jordan Bowers ranks No. 8 in the all-around with a 39.508 mark. She is No. 6 on bars (9.900), No. 11 on floor (9.900) and No. 17 on beam (9.883).
Rounding out Sooners in the rankings are Dani Sievers at No. 6 on bars (9.900),
Keira Wells at No. 16 on vault (9.875) and
Elle Mueller at No. 23 on bars (9.875).
The first SEC road test of the season is Friday, Jan. 24, as the Sooners take on No. 10 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. This will be the second-straight top-10 matchup for the Sooners in SEC competition. The meet is slated for a 7 p.m. start on SEC Network.
