NORMAN – Freshman
Lily Pederson was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the week after an impressive showing at the Sprouts Collegiate Quad. Pederson shared the honor with LSU's Kailin Chio.
In a meet featuring four preseason top five teams, the Sooners posted the nation's highest score this season with a 197.950 to win the Sprouts Collegiate Quad. OU knocked off defending national champion LSU, 2024 NCAA runner-up Cal, and 2024 NCAA finalist Utah in the quad meet in Oklahoma City.
Pederson matched her career high in the all-around with a 39.550, while also picking up a pair of third-place finishes. Pederson helped lead the Sooners to a nation-leading 49.700 on the uneven bars, while posting a career-high 9.95. On beam, she secured her second-straight 9.9-plus score to help the Sooners to a 49.525 on the event. On floor, she recorded a career-high 9.875 to help OU to a team season best 49.525 on the event.
The Sooners return to the floor this Friday night to take on No. 10 Missouri at 7:15 p.m. CT inside Lloyd Noble Center. The meet is set to air on SEC Network as the Sooners open SEC competition for the first time.
