Sooners Stay No. 1 After Posting Nation’s Top Score

NORMAN – Posting the nation's highest score with a 197.950 at the Sprouts Collegiate Quad, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team remained the No. 1 team in the nation.

The Sooners are one of just two schools to post a 197-plus in each of the first two weeks of competition and one of just five to reach that mark this season.

OU ranks No. 1 with a 197.750 average, followed by LSU at No. 2 with a 197.475. Alabama comes in at No. 3 with a 197.025 while Utah (196.788) and California (196.775) round out the top five.

On the events, the Sooners are ranked No. 1 on bars (49.625), No. 2 on beam (49.463), third on vault (49.325) and fourth on floor (49.338). The Sooners posted a 49.700 on the uneven bars on Saturday, the highest score in the nation this season.
Individually, eight Sooners hold 16 individual rankings, including four all-around competitors in the top 12.

Faith Torrez checks in at No. 4 in the all-around with a 39.625 average. The junior is ranked No. 1 on beam (9.95), No. 4 on bars (9.925) and No. 12 on floor (9.912).

Lily Pederson and Audrey Davis are both ranked in the top 10 in the all-around coming in at No. 7 and No. 9, respectively. Pederson holds an average of 39.550, while Davis comes in with an average of 39.512. Pederson is also ranked fourth on beam (9.925), eighth on bars (9.912) and 17th on vault (9.875). Davis is No. 1 on bars (9.963).

Jordan Bowers is No. 12 in the all-around with a 39.475 average. The senior is also No. 4 on bars with a 9.925.

Dani Sievers and Elle Mueller are tied for 10th on bars with matching averages of 9.90. Addison Fatta is ranked 16th on floor with a 9.887 average. Keira Wells is No. 10 on vault with a 9.900.

The home slate is set to begin with the SEC opener, Friday, Jan. 17, when the Sooners host Missouri inside Lloyd Noble Center. The meet is set for a 7:15 p.m. CT start on SEC Network.
