Dodanli to Make Olympics Debut with Turkey

PARIS — Oklahoma senior gymnast Emre Dodanli will compete with Team Turkey in the men's artistic gymnastics competition at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, beginning Saturday, July 27, at Bercy Arena.

The men's team qualifying sessions will be held on Saturday and the men's team finals will be held on Monday, July 29. The all-around final will be held on July 31 and event finals will be held Aug. 3-5.

Turkey will begin its competition in the third qualifying subdivision at 1 p.m. CT Saturday on the E! channel. The men's team final will be held at 10:30 a.m. CT Monday, July 29. The full men's artistic gymnastics competition schedule is listed below.

Dodanli is the seventh OU men's gymnastics athlete to compete in the Olympics. This is the sixth consecutive Olympic Games and 13th overall in which a Sooner will participate in the men's artistic gymnastics competition.

A product of Turkey by way of Milton, Ontario, Dodanli was selected for Turkey's Olympic Team following the Turkish Artistic Gymnastics Senior Men's Championship in Antalya, Turkey, in June. He won the individual all-around national title and won gold on floor exercise and horizontal bar.

Dodanli has also competed with the Turkish National Team at the 2024 European Championships in April and the 2023 World Championships in October. At the World Championships, he helped Turkey qualify a men's gymnastics team to the Olympic Games for the first time in the country's history.
