Alejandro Melero Signed

Sooners Add Alejandro Melero for 2024-25 Season

NORMAN –  Head coach Nick Crowell announced the signing of Alejandro Melero to the Oklahoma men's tennis team for the 2024-2025 season.

"Today is another big day for the program," Crowell said. "Alejandro is a world-class player with world-class experience."

Melero, the No. 17 junior in the ITF rankings, holds a UTR of 13.03 and has won seven ITF junior championships. The Spain native also made it to the round of 16 in the 2023 Wimbledon juniors tournament.

"He brings an enormous amount of international experience to OU and also brings an attitude and passion for the game that we are looking for here at Oklahoma," Crowell continued. 

The addition of Melero rounds out the incoming class for the Sooners who have also added Bruno Nhavene, Vojtech Petr and Oscar Lacides for the 2024-2025 season.
