The Witherspoon brothers were named to the team following this week's Collegiate National Team Training Camp in Cary, N.C. Both saw action on the mound in intersquad competition between the Stars and Stripes teams.
The right-handed pitchers were selected to the 57-man roster that will be divided in two for the International Friendship Series and Summer League Tour. The Witherspoons were named to the International Series roster that will begin a four-game slate on Saturday, June 29.
The 21st USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendship Series kicks off at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, N.C., on Saturday before game two at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., on June 30.
Game three of the series will also be at the National Training Complex on July 1 before the two sides face off at First National Bank Field in Greensboro, N.C., on July 2. The series finale will be July 3 at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis, N.C.

The twin brothers were exceptional on the mound for the Big 12 regular season champion Sooners in 2024, with Kyson pacing the starting pitchers with a 3.71 ERA to go with 90 strikeouts in 80 innings pitched. Malachi, one of OU's primary closers this season, struck out 29 batters in 22.1 innings of work with 14 earned runs allowed.
Both look to play key roles as juniors on head coach Skip Johnson's pitching staff in 2025 as the Sooners play their inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference.
