Two national award winners, two conference award winners, three conference champions, two members of national teams, a coach of the year, a 24th straight NCAA finals appearance and numerous marks not reached in five years. The Oklahoma men's gymnastics squad, a team that featured a total of 14 gymnasts (two-thirds of the roster) competing in their first or second year with the program, put together quite an impressive 2024 campaign.

OU reached its 24th consecutive NCAA Finals. The Sooners have reached every NCAA Finals held during head coach Mark Williams' 25-year tenure and finished in the top 4 each year (the 2020 NCAA Championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

Gymnasts received national recognition in various forms:
- Fuzzy Benas was named the CGA Gymnast of the Year and Emre Dodanli was named the CGA Specialist of the Year.
- Fifth-year senior Jack Freeman was named a finalist for the Nissen-Emery Award.
- Benas was named to the USA Gymnastics Men's Senior National Team and received his first international assignment with USA Gym.Ā

Two OU gymnasts won major conference awards:
Ignacio Yockers was named the MPSF Specialist of the Year for the second year in a row (the award was established in 2023) and
Nico Hamilton was named the MPSF Freshman of the Year (OU's first gymnast to win the MPSF top freshman award).

Mark Williams was named the MPSF Coach of the Year for the 15th time in his 25 seasons at the helm of the Sooners. He was also awarded the CGA West Region Coach of the Year.Ā

Eight Sooners earned a total of 13 regular season All-America honors from the CGA by ranking in the top 8 nationally in scoring average at the end of the regular season: Dodanli (floor exercise, vault, high bar), Benas (all-around, parallel bars), Freeman (floor exercise, high bar),
Zach Nunez (pommel horse), Yockers (pommel horse), Christiansen (high bar), Hamilton (floor exercise) and
Tas Hajdu (still rings).

Six Sooners earned a total of nine MPSF All-Conference honors based on their performance at the MPSF Championship: Benas (all-around, still rings, vault, parallel bars), Dodanli (floor exercise), Yockers (pommel horse), Christiansen (high bar), Freeman (high bar) and Bereznev (vault).Ā

OU gymnasts claimed a league-high 31 MPSF weekly honors and seven weekly national honors from the CGA.Ā

Dodanli notched the six highest floor exercise scores in the nation this season (all 14.866 or better; no other gymnast scored higher than 14.800 on the event) and he was the first gymnast to score 15.000 or better on floor since the 2021 season (he eclipsed that mark three times). Dodanli competed for Turkey at the 2023 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium,in October and again at the 2024 European Championships in Rimini, Italy, in April.

OU gymnasts won a total of 47 individual event titles in 12 meets this season. Dodanli paced the team with 13 event titles in his nine meets, the most individual event medals by a Sooner since Yul Moldauer won 25 event titles in 2019.

OU posted two team scores in 2024 that were its highest since the 2019 season (420.350 at Rocky Mountain Open and 418.957 in the NCAA Qualifier). OU's 70.950 on high bar (Feb. 10 vs. California), 73.532 on vault (April 20 NCAA Finals) were its highest team event scores since the 2019 season.Ā

OU hosted the MPSF Championship at McCasland Field House for the fifth time. The Sooners finished as MPSF runner-up by posting their highest team score at home this season (418.400) in the MPSF Championship, held at McCasland Field House.

OU registered its highest attendance in program history and highest attendance for a home meet nationally this season with its crowd of 2,111 on Feb. 3. It was also the highest recorded student attendance in program history (651).
