NORMAN – Oklahoma men's gymnastics junior
Emre Dodanli was named the CGA national Specialist of the Week after totaling 56.100 on his four events Saturday at Stanford, the College Gymnastics Association announced Wednesday.
Dodanli won the floor exercise event title, scoring 15.000, and stuck his vault for a 14.800. He also posted a 13.200 on parallel bars and 13.100 on high bar. His 15.000 score was his third 15-plus score on floor this season. Dodanli is the only collegiate gymnast nationally to post a 15.000 or better on floor exercise even once since the 2021 season. He also placed second at the meet on vault with his 14.800, his second-highest vault score of this season. The Milton, Ontario, product is ranked first nationally on floor exercise, fourth on high bar and fifth on vault.
This is Dodanli's second CGA national award this season, and this is the seventh time an OU gymnast has earned a national honor from the CGA. Dodanli was also named Specialist of the Week on Jan. 31, redshirt sophomore
