NORMAN – After setting a program record with a 198.675 against West Virginia Friday night, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team remained the No. 1 team in the nation for the eighth consecutive week. The Sooners boast a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 198.270 – the highest opening NQS in program history. This week marks the first time this season the rankings have been determined by NQS.
NQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition.
